A family in Ottawa, Canada, is grateful for their dog who literally stopped traffic to save their daughter during a sudden medical emergency. CTV reports that Haley Moore was walking her one-and-a-half-year-old Maremma Sheepdog mix, Clover, when she fell to the ground and had a seizure. Clover was quick to take action.

Video from a neighbor’s security camera shows the dog first checking on Haley, then freeing her leash from Haley’s hand before forcing a passing vehicle to stop. The driver, Dryden Oatway, jumped out as Clover kept an eye on her human. Oatway rang the nearest doorbell, then returned to tend to Haley. The diligent dog then stopped a second car for help as well.

Clover eventually ran home barking as neighbors told Haley’s parents what happened. When they all returned to the scene, Haley was being treated by paramedics in an ambulance. Fortunately, she was okay. The family isn’t sure what caused Haley's sudden seizure, but they’re comforted knowing Clover is protecting her. The good dog was even rewarded with a juicy steak.
