Fujifilm made headlines earlier this year when they announced a new $2 billion plant for its CDMO arm, Fujifilm Diosynth Technologies. The only thing that was left to decide was where exactly the facility would go...and they've finally picked!

Drumroll please, Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, the CDMO arm of Japan's tech and life sciences giant, chose Holly Springs, North Carolina as the site of its $2 billion cell culture super-plant! What does this mean for North Carolina? The company revealed that it will add just under 1,000 new jobs in the area by 2028.

North Carolina went head to head with Texas when it came to this new facility. North Carolina had two locations on their radar while Texas had one.
