Prepare to have your heart melted. A dog in North Carolina made national news over the weekend for his attempted crimes, which resulted in the happiest ending of all.

Sisu is a 67 lb. male mixed breed dog. He appears to be part pit bull mixed with a whole lot of love. Until very recently, Sisu was a stray. That changed after he was busted for trespassing and attempted shoplifting.

According to CNN, Sisu was caught trying to steal a purple stuffed unicorn from a Dollar General store in Kenansville. Not just once. Repeatedly. Every time a human customer opened the door, Sisu would run in and try to get the toy. After the fifth time, a store employee called Duplin County Animal Control.

This could have ended badly for Sisu. Instead, the Duplin County Animal Control officer who went to pick him up shelled out the few bucks to buy the stuffed unicorn for the little bandit. Once back at the Duplin County Animal Services shelter, Sisu was booked and photographed.

The caption read: "This is what happens when you break into the dollar general consistently to steal the purple unicorn that you laid claim to but then get animal control called to lock you up for your B & E and larceny but the officer purchases your item for you and brings it in with you."

That's all it took. Sisu, and his unicorn, were adopted just one day later.
