Recipe For Garlic Bread Casserole Goes Viral And I Gotta Make It
I’m always on the hunt for new recipes. And even though the weather is getting warmer, I still enjoy a hearty casserole. We may see rain Saturday so it may be a good day for a comfort food casserole recipe and I think I’ve found one and it is inexpensive to make.
A mom’s simple recipe for garlic bread casserole has taken the internet by storm. The dish was posted in a cheap meals ideas group on Facebook. It was an instant hit, attracting 3500 shares and thousands of reactions in just 24 hours.
The recipe calls for a loaf, or slices of cheesy garlic bread, a pound of ground beef, pasta sauce and grated cheese. This dish only takes about 20 minutes to put together so it’s a good one to whip up quick if you’re short on time. It’s definitely one that your kids will like.
All you do is line the bottom of a casserole dish with slices of cheesy garlic bread. New York Garlic Texas Toast would be a good call. Publix sells a roasted garlic bread in their bakery that is amazing. It would go well in this recipe. Brown the ground beef and drain any excess oil from it. Put the meat back in the pan and stir in your choice of store bought pasta sauce. Put that mixture over the garlic bread.
Top the casserole with a generous layer of the shredded cheese of your choosing and bake for 2o minutes at 325 degrees or until the cheese is bubbly.
Now, if you’re like me, and you like your bread crispy, bake the bread in the oven for ten minutes, to toast it up before adding the other ingredients on top of it. You could make the dish a bit more hearty by using meatballs instead of ground beef. Both ways sound yummy!
