Fans of NBC’s sitcom Parks and Recreation understand and appreciate the fact that Nick Offerman has a lot in common with his character Ron Swanson. From his mastery of woodworking, to his marriage to Megan Mullally (Tammy 2), to his love for Lagavulin whisky, Offerman and Swanson are cut from the same flannel cloth.
Offerman also happens to be gaga for Guinness. Now he has combined the essence of the iconic Irish stout with his Lagavulin Offerman Edition Aged 11 Years Single Malt Scotch. The result is Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Guinness Cask Finish. To create this magical elixir, Offerman’s signature whisky, released in 2019, has been aged an additional four months in casks from the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Halethorpe, Maryland.
According to the media release: “Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Guinness Cask Finish is a glorious adventure in ‘sweet peat’ through the combination of the intense peat and charred wood notes of Lagavulin with the roasted coffee, dark chocolate and sweet caramel notes from the Guinness casks.” I’m in!
The limited-edition Single Malt should retail for about $80. With Father’s Day right around the corner, I may have to accidentally email this link to my wife. Here’s the promotional video Nick filmed with his father:
