Chubykin Arkady/ShutterstockCanceled last year due to the pandemic, Museum Day is coming back for 2021. The Smithsonian magazine-sponsored event will take place on Saturday, September 18th. Hundreds of museums, zoos, and cultural centers across the United States will welcome visitors for free on that day. The list includes some interesting museums in the Carolinas:
North Carolina
- Ava Gardner Museum (Smithfield)
- Cape Fear Museum (Wilmington)
- Robeson Planetarium and Science Center (Lumberton)
- UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens (Charlotte)
South Carolina
- Berkeley County Museum (Moncks Corner)
- Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art (Charleston)
- Lexington County Museum (Lexington)
- Upcountry History Museum (Greenville)
Tickets will be available starting Wednesday, August 18th. Only one ticket is available per email address but it’s good for two people. For more information about the free Museum Day, click here.
