Taking the dog to the Home Depot.

If you have errands to run and don’t want to leave your dog at home or in the car, it can hard to find pet-friendly stops along the way. But you may be surprised by the number of businesses, aside from pet stores, that are actually cool with your canine companion coming inside with you.

Bustle put together a list of some pooch-friendly places, but they say you should proceed with caution. While service dogs are covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act, some retail locations that are attached to malls may not be allowed to welcome all dogs inside, so it’s best to call ahead and ask. And some food-related businesses, like Shake Shack and Starbucks, only allow dogs in outdoor seating areas because of health regulations.
