Good news! Carowinds announced that it will no longer require advanced reservations for guests at its theme park and at the Carolina Harbor waterpark. The park reopened in May and was requiring guests to make reservations to help prevent the spread of of COVID-19. Carolina Harbor delayed their opening this summer due to a labor shortage.
In addition to dropping advance reservations, Carowinds added days to its summer calendar. Score! Carowinds will now be open 10 more days from noon until 5 p.m. from Aug. 23 to Sept. 23.
The park’s newest attraction, Grand Carnivale, runs through August 1 with international cuisine and cultures featured throughout the park. It looks really cool! Very bright and festive and the food looks tasty!
I remember as a kid, my dad used to take my brother and I to Carowinds. Back then, in the 70’s and early 80’s, it wasn’t as big as it is now. The one thing I loved about going, besides the rides, was getting one of those huge rainbow suckers that took days to eat. I’d bring it home and put it in the fridge and lick on it for days. Eventually my mom would just throw it out. LOL! Those things rocked!
