You know those big red balls that sit in front of Target store entrances? For all we know, they’re simply decorative, but it’s a good thing those are there.
WRAL-TV reports a woman drove over one of those balls in front of the Target in Holly Springs, North Carolina on Monday (7/19). Michelle Wright was backing out of a spot in the parking lot, stepped on the gas a little too hard, and ended up teetering on top of the ball.
This happened in the afternoon, so you can imagine the number of social media posts. Here’s the one from the TV station:
A car crashed into a Target ball in Holly Springs today! We've reached out to police to learn more about how this happened. We'll keep you updated. https://t.co/frvknHYpVU— WRAL NEWS in NC (@WRAL) July 19, 2021
I like this one even more:
Thankfully, no one was hurt. However, as you might expect, the woman was charged with driving while impaired, as well as careless and reckless driving. If it hadn’t been for Target’s design choice, this could have been a lot worse. Big red ball for the win!
