Charlotte Douglas International Airport is Getting Some Big Changes
The Charlotte airport is evolving. Flying out of Charlotte soon? Well, you can keep your eye out for song big changes. At the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, there will be a new front of the airport.
According to the Charlotte Observer, “Work on the project had been concentrated on the building’s west end, but will soon shift to the east, near Checkpoint E, the airport said Wednesday afternoon. Due to the change, travelers will see door changes to the airport’s entry and exit — including the launch of a new passenger bridge — starting the week of August 15th, 2021.” The Terminal Lobby is what the airport calls a “signature project” and remains open throughout all six phases of the airport construction.
Renovations wrapped on concourses A and C in 2020 and there are tons of new food and beverage options. One I am excited to try is The Broken Spoke. This is a cocktail bar and sister concept to Great Wagon Road Distilling which opened in mid- February 2020 after a year of preparation.
This big terminal lobby expansion started in December of 2019. The project hopes to be completed in 2025. These alterations are a part of CLT’s $608-million terminal lobby expansion project.
