Knowing they’re about to get a lot busier, baristas have shared some rules they hope customers will observe when ordering their lattes and other made-to-order beverages. After all, it’s not easy standing on your feet all day, working with hot liquids, and dealing with a demanding public. Here’s what some baristas told Business Insider they want customers to understand:
- Don’t read the whole menu. Ask questions but keep the line moving.
- Don’t expect service with a smile all the time and give baristas their space.
- The customer is not always right.
- Be patient.
- Make yourself comfy, but don’t overdo it.
- Be a respectful remote worker and don’t overstay your welcome.
- Be courteous if you come as a group.
- Spend money and don’t forget to tip.
