Britney Spears’ Dogs Were Taken Away, Blames Her Father
Britney Spears’ dogs were taken away from her earlier this month after her dog sitter and housekeeper expressed their belief that the pets were being neglected. According to gossip website TMZ, that triggered a conflict between Spears and her housekeeper, leading to a possible criminal investigation.
TMZ reports that about two weeks ago, one of her dogs became sick, so her dog sitter took Britney’s dogs to the vet and never returned. Apparently, the dog sitter kept and took care of the dogs because she believed they weren’t safe at Britney’s home.
On August 10, Page Six reported that Britney called the Ventura County Sheriff’s Dept. to report a theft, but when police arrived at her home she ended up sending them away. Page Six wasn’t sure what was allegedly stolen. However, TMZ speculates that as of Monday (August 16) morning, Britney suspected that Jamie had something to do with her dogs’ disappearance, so she confronted her housekeeper about it.
The housekeeper (who, apparently, is paid by Jamie) told her the dogs had been neglected and showed photos on her phone of one of the dogs having just thrown up. Britney allegedly became extremely upset and told the housekeeper she wasn’t allowed to take photos in her house.
Apparently, a struggle ensued and Britney knocked the phone out of the housekeeper’s hands, but sources say she merely hit the phone. Law enforcement sources say the housekeeper alleged Britney struck her arm, which then caused her to lose her grip over the phone. This resulted in the housekeeper filing a battery report with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department as a possible misdemeanor battery charge. But police Capt. Eric Buschow told Page Six that the incident was classified as a “very minor misdemeanor battery” and that the staffer had “no injuries.”
However, Spears is now under investigation for battery, leaving the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office to decide whether to file charges against her.
Per TMZ, Britney believes the housekeeper sent Jamie the photos and he then called the dog sitter and told her to take the dogs away. Sources say Jamie is “totally in the dark on what goes on in her home. He’s been shut out.”
