I love homegrown tomatoes. They just taste different than store bought ones. And of course, here in the South we love our 'matter sandwiches. Yum! I've never tried to grow my own tomatoes but from what I can gather, they grew well this year. A friend at work brings in some and a Gastonia buddy of mine gave me some this week.

When I got the tomatoes from my hometown bud, I made a nice light dinner with them. I toasted some roasted garlic bread (Publix), put goat cheese on both slices, and added fresh tomatoes. It was delicious! And it was easy. It's too hot right now to do a bunch of cooking.

Southern Living has 75 tasty summer tomato recipes if you seem to have an abundance this year.

The Fried Green Tomato Salad with Buttermilk Dressing looks delightful! I'm a big fan of fried green tomatoes, and this looks awesome. The Pasta with Heirloom Tomatoes, Goat Cheese, and Basil looks delicious as well. Herbed Tomato Tart recipe that they have posted looks yummy too!
