Panera Bread Has A New Mac & Cheese Grilled Sandwich
Mac & cheese isn’t my all time favorite food. I enjoy a homemade mac & cheese once in a while, but it’s not my go to comfort food. AND after Phil & I tasted the Van Leeuwen Kraft Mac & Cheese ice cream, I’m gonna be off the dish for quite a while. If you missed our “Nosh or Nasty” video, check it out.
Panera Bread is one of my favorite stops when the weather gets chilly because I love some of their soups…and breads. Not sure I’ll try this new sandwich though. They now have a Grilled Mac & Cheese Sandwich which is way different from a regular grilled cheese.
The Grilled Mac & Cheese Sandwich is a step up from a traditional grilled cheese. The restaurant has taken their mac & cheese and squashed it between two slices of bread. The mac & cheese, made with a blend of mozzarella and fontina cheeses, is stacked with Parmesan crisps and layered between two toasted thick-sliced Classic White bread. Talk about a carb overload!
If you’re a big fan of mac & cheese, then this may be the sandwich you’ve been waiting for. And if you have kids, this may be their new favorite sandwich. Rarely have I ever turned down a carb, however, this may just be too much for me.
