William Shatner Is Finally Going To The Final Frontier
Space is the final frontier and the man who played Captain James Tiberius Kirk on Star Trek is finally going there. In what will be the ultimate culmination of a career as a fictional space explorer, William Shatner is reportedly going to space for real.
According to TMZ, the actor is expected to officially announce on Monday (9/27) that he’s taking a 15-minute voyage on one of Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rockets in October. At 90 years of age, William Shatner would become the oldest person to visit space. The journey will be filmed for a documentary.
There is still no word on who might accompany Shatner to space, but it would be cool if another Star Trek cast member could join him. We’re looking at you, George Takei. Or, if that’s not possible, how about someone from the Star Wars franchise? I bet Mark Hamill would also be an entertaining passenger to have in the film.
