The Safest (And Least Safe) States In America
They say if you have your health, you have everything. I would add that safety is pretty important, too, as it can directly impact your health. So where should you live if safety is your #1 priority?
WalletHub has just released their list of the Safest States in the Country. The states are ranked in five categories: personal & residential safety, financial safety, road safety, workplace safety, and emergency preparedness.
So how are we doing in the Carolinas? North Carolina (19) and South Carolina (40) might not be the safest states, but they’re not the least safe states either. However, South Carolina ranks last in number of vehicle fatalities.
Topping the list as the safest state in the country is Vermont, which scored a 69.49 out of 100, and landed in the Top 10 for all five categories. Louisiana is the least safe state ranking in the bottom ten for personal & residential, financial, workplace, and emergency preparedness safety.
Why are the ten safest states all up north? Having lived through many northern winters, I can tell you there’s nothing safe about all that snow and ice. You can see the complete breakdown HERE.
