Engineer Builds World’s Largest Nerf Gun
A lot of kids are going to put this on the Christmas lists as soon as they see it. A software engineer and YouTuber from Huntsville, Alabama, has constructed the world’s largest Nerf gun. Unfortunately for all those kids, there’s only one in existence.
Michael Pick built a beefed-up edition of the Nerf N-Strike Elite Longshot CS-6 that measures 12 feet, 6 inches long. According to UPI, that’s 300% larger than the normal-sized version and more than twice the size of the one built by the previous Guinness World Record-holder, Mark Rober.
The larger size of the Nerf gun means that the ammunition is also bigger. The 12-inch darts reach speeds of up to 50 mph and can travel a maximum distance of about 250 feet. That’s why kids are going to wish Santa would bring them one.
This thing is really more of a cannon. It’s made of wood and weighs over 200 pounds. The darts are pvc pipe wrapped in Nerf-like foam. And they fly. This would be way too dangerous to put into the hands of most kids, but it sure is fun to watch in action.
