Book Returned To North Carolina Library After 43 Years
A North Carolina high school library is back in possession of a book it loaned out to a student more than 40 years ago. Bandys High School in Catawba said it recently received the book Basic Clutches and Transmissions in the mail from a former student who checked it out back in 1979.
Brett Allred, who now lives in Florida, included a letter with the book when he sent it back and expressed his gratitude for the school setting him on the path to owning his HVAC business. He also said while the book was one of his favorites for several years, he regrets that he may have denied other students from the knowledge that could be gained from the book.
It doesn’t appear that the overdue offender will be charged a late fee. In fact, Bandys High School shared a photo of the long overdue book on social media, including a link to the heartfelt letter from Mr. Allred. You can read it HERE.
