Lowe’s And Petco Team Up For ‘Store-In-Store’ Concept
If you spend any amount of time in home improvement stores, you’ve probably seen customers wandering the aisles with their dogs. I’m one of those customers (see below). According to the Charlotte Observer, Mooresville-based Lowe’s has decided to make their stores even more of a destination for our four-legged shopping companions.

The home improvement retailer is partnering with Petco for a “store-in-store” concept called Lowe’s + Petco. You can already buy pet food and supplies from Lowe’s, but this plan builds on that. The new locations will also offer pet services, including mobile grooming and veterinary clinics for vaccinations, microchipping, and pest prevention.
The first Lowe’s + Petco location will open in early February in San Antonio. The plan calls for expansion to 14 other Lowe’s stores in Texas, North Carolina, and South Carolina by the end of March. Half of the locations will be within the Charlotte region; we just don’t know which ones yet. I love this idea. It will be a great way for my family to get a lot done on a Saturday in one place.
