Guy Takes Bell To Restaurant To Ring For Service, Girlfriend Gets Embarrassed & Leaves
Stories like this are why I don’t date! A woman took to Reddit to ask if she was a jerk for becoming embarrassed when her boyfriend busts out a bell at a restaurant and rings it for service.
After months of dating, you think you know a person. You THINK! Reddit user Blain-Ad-5996 shared a story about her American boyfriend that honestly makes us look bad. I’m not sure what country she lives in, but her boyfriend is American and is living in her country.
According to BoredPanda, the two met out at a restaurant for dinner. They looked over the menu and chatted, and then the boyfriend busts out a bell. The man rings the bell to try and get the waiter’s attention. The woman says the bell was loud and piercing. She asked her boyfriend to stop, but he refused. Others in the restaurant were staring at them and the woman became embarrassed. Rightly so!
The man refused to stop ringing the bell when his girlfriend asked him to, so she gathered her things and walked out of the restaurant. He followed her and the two got into a big fight. The boyfriend told her that this behavior is acceptable in America and that she was overreacting.
As of right now, the two are still together but she says her boyfriend is demanding an apology for her walking out and that he’s sulking. She took to Reddit to see if she was in the wrong, and folks have BIG opinions about this. Obviously, many Americans told her that this behavior is not acceptable here. I’ve never seen anyone do this in a restaurant and if someone I was with did it, I’d walk out too!
Many commenters believe the same way I do: you need to dump this dude! He’s an overgrown baby and an entitled jackass. You don’t ring a bell at waitstaff here in America! If I was the waitress or waiter at this place, I’d have said something! Rude!
