Charlotte Is Getting Its Green River Back For St. Patrick’s Day
After a two-year hiatus, the river will flow green once again at the U.S. National Whitewater Center for its St. Patrick’s Day celebration. The public is invited to enjoy the festivities at the Green River Revival on Saturday, March 12.
This year’s event truly is a revival. According to the Charlotte Observer, the Whitewater Center’s annual St. Patrick’s Day gathering was canceled the last two years due to the pandemic. This year’s edition will begin with the Color Me Green 5K Trail Run at 9:00 AM before the Whitewater Center’s very own leprechaun turns the river green at 1:00 PM.
The Green River Revival will also include a variety of yoga sessions, plus live music from the New Breed Brass Band and Cha Wa. And of course, you can raft or kayak down the green rapids as well. Find the complete schedule and other details HERE.
