Say it ain’t so! There’s a Girl Scout Cookie shortage in the Carolinas due to supply chain problems.
According to WCNC, the shortage is causing some of the most loved cookies to be hard to find. The shortage is impacting troops in eight counties across North and South Carolina. These counties include Anson, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Rowan, Stanly, Union and York (South Carolina).
If you’re a fan of Samoas, S’mores, Trefoils and Adventurefuls, which is the new cookie for 2022, these are all in short supply. Hornets’ Nest Council CEO Tayuanee Dewberry says workforce issues are also part of the shortage problem. Cookie sales are the main money maker for the Girl Scouts.
Three weeks ago, when I was at my hairdressers in Gastonia, there was a table full of Girl Scout Cookies for sale. If you’re a fan and see the cookies for sale, grab em quick! You can also purchase the cookies online here.
