The year was 1988. I was 18 years old and a senior in high school, and a movie was released that has stayed in my mind for years. The movie was “Beetlejuice”. If you grew up in the 80’s and hear the word “Beetlejuice”, images from the movie immediately pop into your mind. Michael Keaton sitting beside the Voodoo priest and the shrunken head guy is one of my favorite visuals. Now, 30 plus years later, a “Beetlejuice” sequel is happening.
According to Deadline, Brad Pitt’s Plan B production company is taking on the project and the movie may start filming as early as this summer. Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder are expected to reprise their respective roles. Yea! Keaton IS Beetlejuice and I can’t see anyone else playing the part. I’m really hoping that Catherine O’Hara will also be in the sequel. Love her! The “Banana Boat” scene is a classic!
The original is awesome and the whole cast of the movie was perfect! If you’re like me, you’re a little skeptical about a sequel. I’m looking forward to more details on the movie. Maybe if we say, “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice” the movie will appear quickly!
