If you’re looking for a good time this weekend, this event is for you! AND you’ll be helping others. Queen City Craft and Gourmet and Middle James Brewing are holding a “Cheers & Beers” event on Sunday to benefit the ‘Move For Jenn’ Foundation.
Now, if you’re like me and unfamiliar with this charity, no worries. The Move For Jenn Foundation’s mission is to offer grants in the form of active-wear prosthetics to those who have suffered the loss of a limb to sarcoma or other affiliated diseases. These sports prosthetics are not considered “medically necessary” by most insurance companies. The foundation bridges the gap to allow amputees to get back to the physical activities they enjoyed prior to amputation.
Love this! Although it wasn’t due to cancer, I have an older brother that lost an arm due to a fall while mountain climbing. He physically had his arm for two years but it wasn’t functional. Eventually, he decided to amputate it. He tried a prosthetic, but he was already comfortable just doing things with one arm, so he decided against it.
