If you’re looking for a good time this weekend, this event is for you! AND you’ll be helping others. Queen City Craft and Gourmet and Middle James Brewing are holding a “Cheers & Beers” event on Sunday to benefit the ‘Move For Jenn’ Foundation.

Now, if you’re like me and unfamiliar with this charity, no worries. The Move For Jenn Foundation’s mission is to offer grants in the form of active-wear prosthetics to those who have suffered the loss of a limb to sarcoma or other affiliated diseases.  These sports prosthetics are not considered “medically necessary” by most insurance companies. The foundation bridges the gap to allow amputees to get back to the physical activities they enjoyed prior to amputation.

Love this! Although it wasn’t due to cancer, I have an older brother that lost an arm due to a fall while mountain climbing. He physically had his arm for two years but it wasn’t functional. Eventually, he decided to amputate it. He tried a prosthetic, but he was already comfortable just doing things with one arm, so he decided against it.

The event will be Sunday, April 3,  from 1 pm to 4 pm and it’s a bottle share. What is a Bottle Share: A Bottle Share is a gathering of friends that bring their own beers to share with a group. Each person brings something.  The beers are frequently rare or unavailable to the local market. Etiquette is to let the person who brought the beer open it and pour samples for anyone interested in trying that beer.
Bring your friends, have a few beers, and help out an amazing cause! Tickets are $25 and it’s a 21 and up event.  All the details can be found here.
