Chick-fil-A Gives $24M In College Scholarships To Employees
A lot of people love working for Chick-fil-A, partly because the fast food giant has a history of investing in its employees. According to Restaurant Dive, the Atlanta-based company has just awarded $24 million in college scholarships to nearly 12,700 Team Members across the U.S. and Canada. Chick-fil-A has 147 locations in North Carolina and 81 in South Carolina.
The scholarships can be applied to any area of study as long as it is to an accredited university. Many of the scholarships are made possible through sales of Chick-fil-A’s bottle sauces that launched in 2020. Since then, sales from the bottled sauces contributed more than $6.4 million to their Remarkable Futures Scholarships program.
This is nothing new for Chick-fil-A. The company has been helping employees with their educations for a long time. Since 1970, Chick-fil-A has awarded more than $136 million in scholarships to more than 80,000 restaurant Team Members.
During the pandemic, many fast food restaurants have struggled to attract and retain employees. However, Chick-fil-A stands to keep more of their people with programs like this.
