Dumpster Diving Man Gets Stuck For Days
A 60-year-old man says he spent nearly three days in a dumpster. How did he end up in there? The New Jersey resident saw something inside that he just had to have. Or, to paraphrase an old song lyric from Squeeze, he was tempted by the trash of another.
According to NJ.com, the man told police he saw a chair in the dumpster that he wanted and fell in trying to salvage it. He was eventually rescued by firefighters and police after someone in a nearby apartment complex heard his cries for help. A good rule of thumb when dumpster diving is “have an exit strategy.”
Police in Clifton, New Jersey say the man suffered minor injuries, adding they can’t be sure how long he was actually in the dumpster. That’s understandable. Dumpsters are very much like casinos in that regard. There are no windows or clocks so it’s very easy to lose track of time. Plus, you can never really be sure you’ll come out looking, or smelling, like a winner.
