Woman Stopped At Airport For Suspicious Tubes In Carry-On Bag
It happens every day at airports all over the world. Somebody packs the wrong thing and they get stopped at a security checkpoint. It’s often some sort of contraband, like a knife, gun, or drugs. Every now and then, however, the TSA finds something more surprising.
According to WLWT-TV, TSA agents at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport pulled a woman out of line because of some suspicious items in her carry-on bag. Airport officials say Chelsea Cawood Trinidad was flying to Tulsa, Oklahoma, when her bags were flagged. What the agents found were dense and cylindrical, but not what they expected.
After a brief inspection, TSA agents said the torpedo-shaped items turned out to be eight tubes of Cincinnati’s famous Glier’s Goetta sausage. Trinidad said whenever she’s visiting family in Cincinnati, she always brings back the sausage for her friends in Tulsa.
My mother is notorious for flying with food, particularly meats and baked goods. So far, she hasn’t run into any problems. Based on the puns in the TSA’s post on Instagram, it appears that Chelsea was also allowed to continue traveling without losing any of her precious cargo. Next time, though, she may want to have it shipped.
