Spring Just Got Spicier With Hot Sauce Ice Cream

People have been combining all sorts of unlikely things with ice cream for years. Pickles, avocado, everything bagel seasoning, macaroni & cheese, and even Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Why bother with the Cheetos? If you like the spice, now you can try hot sauce-flavored ice cream.

According to Mandatory, San Francisco-based Double Rainbow Ice Cream has collaborated with Tia Lupita Foods to create Chipotle Chocolate Chip. It’s made of a base of Double Rainbow’s Ultra Chocolate Ice Cream, fudge chips, and Tia Lupita’s Chipotle Hot Sauce.

How hot is it? That’s not quite clear, but chipotle peppers fall somewhere between 2,500 and 10,000 on the Scoville scale, which puts it higher than a jalapeno. You can order a pint of the spicy ice cream at both tialupitafoods.com and doublerainbow.com now for $8.99.
