Britney Spears announced that she suffered a miscarriage.

Spears shared a joint statement with her fiancé Sam Asghari via Instagram saying, "It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy. This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along, however, we were overly excited to share the good news."

Their statement continued, "Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all of your support. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment."

We send our thoughts to Spears and Asghari during this difficult time.

"Everytime" is a haunting ballad that was paired with an even more unsettling music video — one that seems to depict the mental effects of being hounded by paparazzi and trapped in an unhappy relationship.

"Lucky" (2000) tells a story about a famous pop star named Lucky, who despite seemingly having it all (fame, wealth, beauty) is truly lonely and unhappy on the inside. Looking back now, you can't help but relate the song to the singer's real-life troubles.

Of course, Britney's debut song deserves a top spot on the list! Coming out in 1998, people still dress up in her iconic schoolgirl outfit for Halloween!

1. Toxic

The #1 slot goes to "Toxic," the song that brings out the bad girl in everyone. On a personal note, I remember watching the music video as a young child and feeling the need to change the channel when my parents walked in because it was SO risqué! Delighted to say it is a song that has transcended time and is played to this day.
