It’s Memorial Day Weekend 2022. Even though Covid-19 Isn’t over, most have come to the realization that in some form it will be a part of our lives forever and so, on we go. The last time Memorial Day Weekend seemed this normal was 2019. 3 years ago. You still need to be safe to protect the elderly and young kids yet to be vaccinated, you know…common sense stuff.

This is a solemn remembrance of those who have died. The joy of the weekend is that these people died fighting to preserve our way of life. The freedom to do the things we’ll all do this weekend. Nuff said. Top Gun: Maverick opens and celebrations are more normal this year than anytime during covid-19.

Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna are back as hosts for PBS’ 33rd National Memorial Day concert.  The concert has become a staple for the holiday and will be held in Washington, DC.  This year’s concert will feature music, a dedication to the memory of General Colin Powell, a tribute to those who served in World War II and the Vietnam War, and of course, fireworks.  You can see the show on May 29 on PBS, and you can stream it on YouTube starting at 8 p.m.  What are you doing for Memorial Day weekend?
