South Carolina 22-Year-Old Dog Named Oldest in the World
Can you imagine having the world’s oldest puppy? Well, one South Carolina family is truly living that dream. Bobby and Julie Gregory of Taylors, South Carolina have now entered their dog, Pebbles, into the Guinness World Records.
THE STORY.
WSPA reports that the Gregory family’s puppy, Pebbles, has earned the title of the oldest living doggy. The four-pound Toy Fox Terrier was born on March 28, 2000. Pebbles is now a whopping 22 years old, proving to be the oldest pup in the world. When hearing about the previous doggy holding the record, they realized their beloved Pebbles was actually older. “Bobby was sitting on the couch and friends and family started texting and calling about a story they saw about a 21-year-old dog getting the record,” said Julie to WSPA. “When I saw TobyKeith’s story all over the news, I applied.”
Pebbles may be the oldest puppy, but she is still living her best life. She spends the majority of her days sleeping until the late afternoon and staying up partying all night long. Her favorite thing to do is listen to some of her favorite country artists. She loves Conway Twitty and Dwight Yokum, according to Julie. Pebbles is on a special cat food diet that her veterinarian placed her on a few years ago to help with her eating.
Pebbles was also once a married woman, but lost her puppy husband Rocky, in 2017. The two had 24 puppies together. Pebbles spends her time enjoying warm weather and sitting outside near the family’s pool during the summer. So, what’s the key to helping a dog live a long and healthy life? “Treat them like family because they are. Give them a happy positive environment as much as possible, good clean food and proper healthcare,” said Julie in a press release.
