“Phil & Mel” Are Up For Adoption
Years ago when I was doing mornings on another local radio station, a guy who worked at a deli named a sandwich after me. I was so honored and excited, especially since I’m a big fan of sandwiches. Now something else has been named after me and I’m so stoked! I found out yesterday that two pups are named after Phil and I.
Clifford’s Army Rescue Extravaganza is a group that rescues animals in need. And they do amazing work! They take on cases that other places won’t. I am in awe of all the volunteers! They rescue animals in dire need and it’s truly mind blowing how they transform these animals.
I adopted Eddy from them a year ago. Her intake picture was heartbreaking. All you could see was her head, long legs, and ribs. She was basically a feral dog. I was able to adopt Eddy when she was about eight months old. Now she’s a spunky two year old that loves her toys and fighting with her brother Kramer.
Deb Hardin and Tammy Freeman worked with her for months so that she could be adoptable. Deb Hardin is the founder and president of the organization and Tammy Freeman is the vice-president and canine coordinator. These two women work magic with animals!
Yesterday on Facebook I saw a post that Deb made about two puppies. I had to read the post twice to make sure I read it correctly. In the post, Tammy is holding two German Shepherd puppies that are about eight weeks old. The names of the puppies are “Phyl(is) and Mel(any). They named the two babies after Phil and I! Both are females and they are gorgeous!
When Clifford’s is in need of money to help all the animals they rescue, I try to help out as much as I can. These folks go above and beyond to rescue animals, and they are some of the most giving people I’ve ever met. Thanks so much to Deb and Tammy for honoring Phil & I!
If you’re looking for a new furry friend, “Phyl and Mel” will be up for adoption soon. You can fill out an application for the pups here.
