Elvis Presley 24-Hour Free Streaming Channel Goes Live
As a child of the Elvis generation, I remember vividly when he died on August 16th, 1977. I had just gotten married the month before and my new wife and I lived in a small apartment and I was doing morning radio on WPEG. I remember going to work the next morning and playing all Elvis songs. I remember our sales manager and big Elvis fan, Dave Landon, being my co-host that morning. I had grown up in the 60’s and 70’s when Elvis was truly “The King”. Michael Jackson’s rise to being the “King of Pop” never would have been a possibility had Elvis still been around.
The new movie “ELVIS” debuted with a 30 million dollar opening weekend. It actually tied Top Gun: Maverick this past weekend. To put that in perspective though in all fairness, Top Gun: Maverick is in it’s 5th week and over 1 billion worldwide. It was “Elvis” first week. Elvis still is a phenomenon, 45 years after his death. He’s still spotted everywhere, wink wink. I saw every movie he made multiple times and can’t wait to see the new film. I hear that Tom Hanks is Oscar worthy as “Colonel Tom Parker”
