Zoom Meetings May Cause Anxiety…Duh
When the pandemic was about to begin, who besides me wished we owned stock in ZOOM? For two years almost all my meetings were done with me dressed from the waist up. Zoom meetings are causing social anxiety. That’s just an understatement.
Clinical psychologists have been seeing a lot the new phenomenon over the past two years, saying many of their clients experience “Zoom Anxiety.” Experts say they didn’t fully anticipate the toll looking at our own faces would take on our mental health and say Zoom can trigger your inner critic. Instead of focusing on the mission of the meeting, we’re wondering how our co-workers are viewing us. Wondering their opinions of how we were managing the pandemic. The more meetings, the more stress and anxiety. It makes perfect sense.
