I’ve been married twice. The first time I got married I eloped and wore a black cocktail dress I bought for less than $100. The second time, I got married at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, and I wore a light coffee colored formal dress. And I only wore it because my mom wanted to see me in a “bridal-type” dress. I think my second dress was around $100. There’s a woman that has gone viral on TikTok for her ridiculously inexpensive dress and we all need to start thrift shopping!
Right now, it’s trendy to go the inexpensive route when it comes to weddings, but this woman should win a prize for her thriftiness. Jillian Lynch posted a TikTok video that has millions of views, showing the wedding dress she purchased at a thrift shop for $3.75. Yup. She found a wedding dress for less than $4!
According to Good Morning America, Lynch went shopping at thrift shops in Ohio and found a dress for her big day. She found a Camila Coelho Reyna Maxi dress that still had the tags on it. The dress was originally priced at $4.99 but was on sale for $3.75.
Lynch found some adorable square-heeled shoes to go with the dress for under $10. Her total outfit was $11.75. Crazy! After spending $110 on alterations to the dress, Lynch’s total wedding outfit still only cost around $125. And if you’re wondering how she looked, check out the video. Not only does she look amazing, but she also looks very comfortable. A bonus while wearing a wedding dress!
After glancing at a few of Lynch’s TikTok videos, thrift shopping is something she does often. She’s found some adorable outfits! Lynch is young and very slim, so I’m sure it’s easier to find clothes that fit well. Smaller sizes are sometimes easier to find that larger sizes. I’ll have to hit some local thrift shops and check out the plus size clothes and see what options are out there. She definitely has style and I love the looks she puts together.
It’s been a while since I was in a thrift shop, but I’m thinking I need to go soon! Obviously, you can score some amazing deals!
