I’m not trying to judge anyone, I know folks like different things, but what in the world?! This I don’t get. A grandmother has the world record for the longest fingernails, and they are LONG!

Diana Armstrong is 63 years old, and her nails combined measure 42 feet, 10.4 inches. Her longest nail is over 4 feet, and her shortest is over 3 feet.

When I first read this story in the New York Post, I wondered why anyone would want their nails this long. Then I read that Armstrong vowed never to cut her nails after her 16 year old daughter passed away in her sleep from an asthma attack. She was the one that manicured her mom’s nails.I understand that she’d want to keep a happy memory of her daughter, but I honestly don’t know how she does things with nails this long. How do you drive? Or work? Or go to the bathroom.

The process to get a manicure is complicated. Armstrong goes the nail salon every four to five years. Her hands require about 15 to 20 bottles of nail polish and a woodworking tool for filing. Wow!

Truly I get why she’d want to keep good memories of her daughter, but this is a trip. I guess all that matters is that she’s happy. In my lifetime I’ve never seen nails like this. Totally wild!
