Yes, I am 52 years old. And yes, I'm still excited about this! General Mills has announced that they are bringing back their Cereal Squad collectible toy characters in specially marked boxes of cereal.

I don't eat lots of sweet cereal and I am not really familiar with the Cereal Squad toys. But there's a sense of nostalgia when I hear cereal toys. I remember as a kid in the 70's, hoping for the toy in boxes of cereal. I wanted to get the toy before my little brother. Of course, depending on the toy, one of us might put our hand into the cereal box to try and find the toy first. Reading about these General Mills toys takes me back to my childhood.

According to Chew Boom, the toys will appear in Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, Trix, Honey Nut Cheerios, Cocoa Puffs and Cooke Crisp cereals. The toys will be focused on the 90's so they'll be 'retro'. Buzz the Bee, The Cinnamojis, Lucky the Leprechaun, Sonny the Cuckoo Bird, Trix the Rabbit and Chip the Wolf are the toys. Wendell the Baker will be available in a limited number of boxes. The toys will be nationwide starting this month.

And speaking of nostalgia, if you didn't know, General Mills has brought back all our favorite monster cereals! According to Thrillist, Frute Brute, Count Chocula, Franken Berry, and Boo-Berry are all back and on store shelves now. The company hired KAWS to design "throwback cereal boxes" for the quartet of breakfast monsters.

As a kid the Monster Cereals were my favorite! Count Chocula, Fraken Berry and Boo-Berry ruled! I loved how the milk would turn colors depending on which one you ate. Boo-Berry may be my all-time favorite kid cereal. I do believe I'm going to have to buy all the monster cereals this year. Nothing wrong with re-living some childhood memories.
