‘The Bodyguard’ Returns To Theaters For 30th Anniversary
In 1992, Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner packed movie theaters with their on-screen chemistry in The Bodyguard. The soundtrack wasn’t bad either. Thirty years later, The Bodyguard is heading back to theaters for its anniversary, according to Deadline.
If you need a refresher on The Bodyguard, Whitney Houston made her film debut starring as Rachel Marron, a music/movie megastar at the height of her career. Unfortunately, one of her adoring fans wants to kill her. That’s where Kevin Costner comes in. He played security expert Frank Farmer, a former Secret Service agent hired to guard Rachel. There’s some kissing, too.
Special screenings of The Bodyguard 30th Anniversary Event are scheduled for November 6th and 9th. They will also include Whitney Houston’s music videos for two songs from the soundtrack immediately following the film. Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, September 28th. More details HERE.
A new biopic about the late Whitney Houston is also coming this year. I Wanna Dance With Somebody, starring British actress Naomi Ackie, opens in theaters nationwide on Wednesday, December 21st.
