South Carolina Famous Strip Club to Become New Church
Well, if it is one thing that South Carolina loves is its churches. But, one new church coming to the Carolinas is the old home of another type of location, a strip club. Now, when you think about it churches and strip clubs certainly do not go hand in hand, but we’ve got a story for you to check out.
The Charlotte Observer reports that Rich Butler and his wife entered the old location of Bucks, Racks, and Ribs, formerly Platinum Plus strip club, and they cried. I know it does sound a bit crazy, but as soon as they entered the building they had that spiritual feeling that they already knew what they wanted to do with it. Although the building still was home to strip club essentials such as poles and stages, they saw it fit for the home of the church they lead.
Although it was a former strip club, the location had all of the things that the couple knew they wanted for their location. Great visibility from the interstate, plenty of parking, and more that would be of great use for their church’s location. They plan to use the existing building for their worship service and add an extension that will be used for classrooms and other use. Worship service in a former strip club? It sounds crazy, but sometimes it’s about what you bring into a new place for new energy. Some people were happy that the strip club would become home to something other than a strip club. Locals described the club as a “stain” according to the Charlotte Observer so now it is time to see where things go from here. Now, Hope Church is about to have a new home with a new reality.
