But, one South Carolina man had other plans when it came to how he would spend his winnings. Talk about a major upgrade, he took it straight to his closet to get a brand new wardrobe after winning the South Carolina lottery.
WLTX reports that one South Carolina man spent $10 on a lottery ticket and walked away winning $300,000! You read that right, spend $10 and get back $300,000!! This South Carolina Upstate man says that he teared up when he saw that he won. He went the entire day with the winning ticket without knowing he won. Can you imagine going through a long day and then finding out you were walking around with $300,000 the whole time? That is some craziness for sure! The first thing he did was take his earnings and purchase a brand-new wardrobe. The story on Easley Highway also received a $3,000 commission for selling him the winning ticket.

The US has had a handful of record-setting lottery jackpots this year, and Americans are looking to get in on the action. A new report shows nearly a quarter of Americans play the lottery at least once a month, and almost half (44%) say they play more when there’s a big jackpot on the line.
Those who do strike it rich often try to keep the winnings quiet. 83% of Americans say they wouldn’t want to tell others if they won. Significant others are in luck though - people say they’d give their SO a little more than 25%, but also said they’d expect more than 25% if the roles were reversed.
