Rick Nielsen will be missing a few Cheap Trick tour dates due to recently undergoing surgery.

In a brief statement from the band shared to social media, “A few days ago Rick had a minor procedure that requires him to stay off the road for this week and not travel. Robin Taylor Zander will be stepping up this weekend.  We look forward to Rick rejoining the guys on the west coast later next week.”

Cheap Trick is booked to perform tonight (November 4) at the McMorran Place Sports & Entertainment Center in Port Huron, Mich. and tomorrow (November 5) at the Kalamazoo State Theatre in Kalamazoo, Mich. The band’s next tour date in a November 10 at the Muckleshoot Casino Resort in Auburn, Wash. Cheap Trick’s current batch of U.S. tour dates wraps up on December 10 in Indio, Calif.

We send our best wishes to Nielsen for a speedy recovery.
