‘The Mean One’ Film Is NOT A Grinch For Kids
First Hollywood ruined ‘Winnie the Pooh’ with ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey‘ a horror film turning Winnie and Piglet into murderers. Now, they’ve gone after the Grinch. ‘The Mean One’ is a new movie coming out December 15, and it’s NOT a Grinch for kids. Or adults that want to remember their childhood Grinch.
The trailer for the new movie has been released and if you’re a horror fan, you’ll be into this flick. The film is loosely based on the Dr. Seuss character from the classic 1957 book ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas!’ Loosely is the operative word. Instead of gifts, love, and Christmas cheer, the film is filled with horror, blood, and revenge.
According to Looper, the movie follows Cindy-You-Know-Who as she returns to her hometown 20 years after the Grinch killed her mother on Christmas Eve. Like the Grinch we love, ‘The Mean One’ lives high atop a crooked mountain and looks down on a town of people that he absolutely despises. When Cindy and her Dad return to Newville, ‘The Mean One’ kills her father. Then, Cindy gets mad.
Cindy is seeking revenge on ‘The Mean One.’ The movie is like ‘Halloween’ and ‘Death Wish’ combined. Cindy is a Christmas Charles Bronson or Linda Hamilton in ‘Terminator.’ She beefs up and works out to become stronger so that she can take on ‘The Mean One.’ I’ll admit that I kind of like the fact that Cindy decides to kick some ass. Just watching the trailer made me cheer for her.
If you’re into horror films and B-slasher movies, then this is a must for you. The movie is being released December 15. Obviously, I haven’t seen the movie, but my gut says there will be a lot of bad puns in the movie. It looks a little cheesey. Violent, but cheesey.
