UNC, Clemson Meet In Charlotte For ACC Championship
The Carolina Panthers are on a bye week but Bank of America Stadium is still the place to be for big-time football action this weekend. Myers Park High School graduate and UNC quarterback Drake Maye will be coming home to Charlotte to lead the #23 Tar Heels (9-3) against the #9 Clemson Tigers (10-2) in Saturday’s (12/3) 2022 ACC Football Championship Game. Kickoff is at 8:00 p.m.
Both teams are looking for some redemption as they’re each coming off losses to their respective in-state rivals. UNC lost to NC State, 30-27, in a double-overtime thriller last Saturday night. Clemson was upset by South Carolina, 31-30, earlier that day. Securing the ACC title would take some of the bitter taste of those defeats away for the winning school.
The fun begins Friday (12/2) with the start of ACC Fan Fest at Romare Bearden Park in uptown Charlotte. According to the Charlotte Observer, the two-day event will include ACC mascot and school band performances; games and giveaways; game-day merchandise for sale; and more. Activities run from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Admission to Fan Fest is free. You can get more info HERE.
