Flight Attendant Goes Viral For Comforting Charlotte Passenger
Even for experienced travelers, flying can be a nerve-wracking ordeal. Takeoffs and landings are usually the most stressful times for anxious passengers. That’s when it’s good to have someone by your side to assure you that everything is going to be alright.
A Delta flight attendant is being praised for going above and beyond to care for a nervous passenger. On a January 2023 flight from Charlotte to New York City, flight attendant Floyd Dean-Shannon was caught on camera doing something a bit out of the ordinary to comfort a woman who was anxious about flying.
According to Sunny Skyz, a Twitter user posted a photo of the flight attendant as he sat on the floor in the aisle of the plane, holding a passenger’s hand and looking up at her. “Check out this gem of a flight attendant,” the post reads. “This woman was so nervous about flying, so he explained every sound and bump and even sat here holding her hand.”
The post has been viewed over 125,000 times and has over 2, 500 likes. Commenters praised Floyd Dean-Shannon for his compassion and shared stories of other flight attendants helping them overcome their anxiety about flying. One person even called flight attendants “the nurses of the sky.” Others hope that Delta will recognize and reward Floyd for his stellar service.
Check out this gem of a flight attendant that was on our flight from CLT to JFK. This woman was so nervous about flying, so he explained every sound and bump and even sat here holding her hand when it still got to be too much for her. @delta , Floyd Dean-Shannon deserves a raise! pic.twitter.com/vvb90vRudA
