People Have Thoughts On The TikTok Fridge Decorating Trend
Oh yea! Another silly TikTok trend to explore. And this one has people a bit annoyed. The new kitchen trend on TikTok is decorating your fridge. And I don’t mean the outside of it, I’m talking the inside!
Now, I’ll admit as a person that loves order and neatness, I could do a better job organizing my fridge. I’m not opposed to buying storage containers and making the inside of my fridge look more appealing.
According to Delish, some folks on TikTok think we should make our fridge decorative, even it it makes it less functional. Eggs, milk, veggies…all things we expect to see in a fridge. You really don’t expect it to look like a Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel catalog on the inside.
Eve Scampoli, @gardenof_eve on TikTok, has been posting videos of her fridge since last year, however, last month, one of her videos went big time viral. Except for a few food items, everything in her fridge is stylized. I must admit that the ‘order’ part of my personality loves it!
What got TikTok users up in arms, however, were the decorative touches that have nothing to do with food. There are pilaster strips that don’t support anything, and their holes serve as miniature flower vases. There are random flowers in the fridge. And the thing most people are talking about is the framed photo of Scampoli’s cat. IN the fridge!
As I looked through a few of Scampoli’s videos, I must admit that I don’t hate this trend. And part of me wants to! But everything looks so nice and appealing! We all decorate our homes according to our loves and likes, so why should a fridge be any different. As much as the ‘bitchy’ part of me wants to dislike this, the organized part of me really wants to try this! I really wanted to hate this idea, but I don’t! If it makes you happy, rock on!
I think if you have a big family or kids that this trend will be frustrating to keep up with. I think ‘fridge organizing’ is probably best for those who are single or for a couple.
