A new type of vehicle has been released in Japan. According to the New York Post, the 12-foot-long XTURISMO “luxury air cruiser” was developed by the aircraft company AERWINS. In an Instagram post, the company reveals their flying motorbike, which resembles an oversized drone, was inspired by Star Wars. Based on the video below, it does have a Return of the Jedi vibe.
The XTURISMO, available in red, blue, and black, is powered by a 228-horsepower gas-fueled motor and can travel at speeds of up to 62 mph. That's impressive. The sticker price also leaves an impression: a whopping $555,000. How do you say "YIKES" in Japanese?
At the moment, the XTURISMO is only available in Japan and can only be taken for test drives on a closed track. That's disappointing, especially considering the price. I would hope that for half a million bucks I would immediately be able to use my flying motorbike for commuting and generally avoiding traffic. You know, like George Jetson. Ahhh, someday.
