I’ve written about many ranch flavored things, and I’ve talked about how hard-core ranch dressing fans are.  Hidden Valley Ranch ice cream is now a thing! Now you ranch fans can test your loyalty!

From the folks that brought us Kraft Mac & Cheese ice cream, Van Leeuwen is now bringing us Hidden Valley Ranch ice cream. The popular dressing brand is teaming up with the Brooklyn-based ice cream parlor for the limited flavor. According to People, the pints will be available at Walmart from March 20 to May 28.

The creators of the odd flavor describe it as having ‘savory flavors of ranch, including buttermilk, flavorful herbs and a touch of sweetness’. Some of the folks that work at People have already tried the new flavor. They say smell isn’t great, although it tasted better than they anticipated. Hidden Valley Ranch recommends dipping pretzels or snack crackers in the ice cream for a more enjoyable experience.

Here’s my issue though: if you need to dip pretzels or snack crackers into the ice cream for it to taste better, isn’t it basically frozen Ranch dip?! Numerous folks on social media have already tagged me about this new ice cream flavor for Phil and I to try in one of our ‘taste test’ videos. I’m not sure we’re up for it.

We tried the Kraft Mac & Cheese flavor when it was released, and it may be the nastiest thing we’ve tried. I still haven’t been able to eat mac & cheese and it’s been a year or so since we tried the ice cream. It was that bad!

In addition to the ranch flavor, Van Leeuwen has a new line of spring flavors available at Walmart. It includes sweet maple cornbread, blood orange chocolate chip, carrot cake, strawberry shortcake and limoncello cake. All of those flavors sound yummy! I’m up for trying them!
