According to Sunny Skyz, Barabra Thackray began running to raise money for St Ann's Hospice where her late sister was a patient. That was eight years ago, which means Thackray didn't take up running until she was 77.
Thackray recently hit a personal best of finishing a 10k race in 85 minutes. She was the only runner in the 80+ age group and Adidas noticed her incredible achievement. The athletic shoe and apparel brand has included the 85-year-old in their latest running campaign. You can see Barbara Thackray as one of the new faces of Adidas at the :53 mark in the commercial below.
