Woman Captures Video Of Bear Family In Dumpster
This is like a storybook scene. Well, kind of. A better description is this looks like a bear ‘clown car’ scene. A woman in Connecticut captured a family of bears and the video is going viral.
According to Insider, Emily Maurer was leaving work on April 11 when she saw a bear poke it’s head out of a dumpster. She got in her car and started filming. The very large bear started crawling out of the dumpster. Then, another bear comes out of the dumpster. Then a third, and a fourth!
In the video you can hear how excited Maurer is! Catching a family of bears near your office is rare. And although I agree with Maurer’s delight seeing the cute animals, bears are dangerous, especially around humans when accessing food. Mama bear’s aren’t usually pleased if humans are too close to her babies either.
Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection says that as bear sightings become more frequent, food-conditioned bears pose a greater risk to the public. Just today Phil and I did a story about a bear destroying a woman’s car and drinking 69 canned soft drinks she had in her trunk. Oddly enough, the bear left the three diet drinks from the bunch. LOL!
Bear activity across the country has also been increasing over the past month as bears come out of hibernation. A man lounging in his backyard in North Carolina last week was startled when a black bear came wandering onto his property. You can see the video here of the man lounging on his back porch when a bear comes close to him. In the video, the man and the bear jumped when they saw each other. Luckily, the bear ran off scared.
If you see a bear or bears near you, keep your distance if possible. They’re cute, but from far away!
