Patches The Fat Cat Finds Forever Home
Although I’m not really a cat person, it always makes me happy to see an animal find their forever home. A large cat in a shelter in Virginia was adopted this week and its new owner had to have help carrying the cat! It’s that big!
There are normal-sized cats, large cats and then there’s Patches. According to CBS News, The Richmond Animal Care and Control shelter in Virginia showed a picture of Patches and luckily, someone decided to take in all the love the large cat has to offer. The shelter is calling the cat ‘gloriously gluttoness’. The cat weighs over 40 pounds! Just watching the video of two people carrying the cat out of the shelter will make you giggle.
This cat is bigger than my dogs! Kramer is 34 pounds and Eddy is about the same. That said, Eddy is a chunkster herself. At her last vet appointment, the vet said that she ‘doesn’t need to get any heavier’. Of course, my doctor says that to me too! LOL!
Despite Patches’ large size, he isn’t the fattest cat on record. A cat named Himmy weighed 46 pounds in 1986 and was pushed around in a wheelbarrow! Can you imagine?!
The shelter’s video of Patches and his new owner is going viral. The new owner looks very excited. And Patches looks as thrilled as a cat can get! Wishing chunky Patches and his new owner years of snacks and happiness!
Patches, a massive cat weighing in at 40.3 pounds, has been adopted, the Richmond Animal Care and Control shelter in Virginia said Wednesday on Facebook. https://t.co/FBXV5Onnss
